Frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) on Olympiad schools of Narayana

 
When will the academic year of Olympiad schools commence from?
2nd Week of June 2008
Are the schools recognized by Govt. of AP.?
Yes.
Admissions are given into which classes and through what syllabus?

Admissions are given from 6th to 10th classes.  The syllabus is SSC.

Is it a co-education school?

Yes.

Do you have separate classes for boys and girls?
It will depend upon the number of students getting admitted. If sufficient strength joins, there will be separate classes for girls and boys.
What are the timings of the school?
8.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
What is the strength of each class?
Around 50 students.
Will you make the child complete his home-work at school?
Yes, homework will be done by the student in the school hours itself.
How is IIT Foundation taken care of?
It starts from 6th class with the integration of SSC, CBSE and ICSE in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.  Special Orientation is given in OLYMPIAD Schools for IIT Foundation curriculum; it is integrated in the day to day regular curriculum.
What do you mean by special focus on AIEEE?
Concept oriented thinking with objective approach
What do you mean by preparation for OLYMPIADS?
Making the students attempt questions based on creative thinking, multiple concepts.

What are the advantages of the coaching?

Students will develop awareness regarding competitive exams and will develop confidence from early age itself to attain success.

What will be the language of instruction in schools?

Only in English.

Will you give admission to CBSE and ICSE students?

Yes, but they have to submit migration certificate during the process of admission and should join SSC Curriculum.

Will you give admission to Telugu medium students?

No

Will there be any separate foundation training initially for CBSE and ICSE students?
Yes, in the initial week of opening of school there will be special orientation programme to strengthen the fundamentals of CBSE and ICSE students.
How are the teachers selected?
After rigorous screening, best and experienced faculty in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be selected and they will be given advanced training to deal with IIT foundation by the IIT experts.  Regular workshops will be conducted to the selected teachers. 
Will there be any special focus on BIPC?
Physical Sciences are common for both MPC and BIPC. Mathematics background is required to excel in physics and chemistry.
What is the programme for Day scholars and Hostlers?
Academic Programme will be the same for day scholars and Hostlers.  Students who require more attention and parents who are busy and cannot attend to these students can join their children in the hostels.  Extra study hours will be allotted to Hostel students during the evening hours.
How are the exams conducted?
Every week examination on IIT model will be conducted in MPC subjects.  Descriptive test in board model will be conducted during quarterly, half yearly, Pre-final and Final Exams.  After each exam separate session will be conducted to rectify the errors done by the students.
What are the details of study hours?
Every teaching period is followed by working period for MPC subjects and for Non-MPC subjects weekly assignment test will be conducted after the study hour.
What are the details of the admission test?
Admission test will be conducted for admission into 6th to 10th classes in all our branches of NARAYANA in A.P.  Syllabus for the admission test will be the completed syllabus of the previous year of the student. For example, for a student seeking admission into 7th class, syllabus would be his completed 6th class syllabus.  Separate question papers for SSC, CBSE and ICSE. For students going to 6th class CBSE and ICSE paper will be the same has they have only one text book for CBSE and ICSE.
Whom to contact regarding admission?
Parents seeking admission should contact the principal of the branch respective in which you are seeking an admission.  Admission details can be obtained in person by meeting the principal.
What is the quality of food you are providing to the hostlers?
Nutritious and balanced diet will be given.
Is there any transport facility?
If the required number of students are there in that specific route.
What are the details of the holidays?
There will be a holiday on all Govt. declared holidays and festivals.  Every 2nd and 4th Saturday will be a holiday.
What are the visiting hours for parents?
Parents can take a prior appointment and can meet principal daily between 3.00 p.m to   5.00 p.m.
What is the special care you are taking for the benefit of students?
1.  Special orientation in basic through our uniquely designed fundamental books.
   2.  Associate faculty for every 12 students. Every Saturday a test is conduct in basics           called as C.D.F test. 
   3.  In the beginnings of the academic year bridge program is conducted to fill the gaps.
   4.  Simple Holiday packages will be given as holiday homework at the end of every term.
   5.  After every test, special assignments will be given on least answered questions.
   6. Students will be exposed to state, National and International level competitive examinations.  
What are the details of study material?
Narayana Olympiad material will be given to the students. Which consist of
          1. Multicolour
          2. Basics books
          3. Daily worksheets level wise with solutions
          4. Activity and projects sheets with solutions.
          5. CDF booklets.
          6. Synopsis booklets.
          7. Study material for state syllabus.  
What is the list of utilities hostel students are supposed to bring?
One mattress, 2 pillows with pillow covers, two bed sheets, one bucket, one mug, one plate, one glass, one lock and key.
What is the difference between Narayana Concept Schools and Narayana Olympiad Schools?
All Narayana Concept schools confine to state syllabus with overall development of the students as the main focus.  IIT foundation is also taken care of in the additional hours.  In Narayana Olympiad schools integration of SSC, CBSE and ICSE syllabi will be done with more emphasis on imparting IIT–JEE coaching.
What is the difference between Narayana e-techno schools and Narayana IIT Olympiad    Schools?
In Narayana IIT Olympiad schools apart from integration of SSC, CBSE and ICSE syllabi linked topics of future classes are also dealt in the detailed way paving the way for chapter based research to IIT level. Here in Olympiad schools, syllabus coverage is 3 times more compared to e-techno schools.
